Dear Coast family,

This Sunday we will continue our journey through Romans and enter the 9th chapter with a focus on the first 5 verses. We will look at what this passage has to say about a strong belief in the sovereignty of God in the salvation of sinners and our heart toward those who are unbelieving.

The message is titled, Passion, Privilege, and Predestination (Romans 9:1-5).

This Sunday we will continue through Romans and consider God's unfailing love to us in the midst of a fallen world filled with suffering.

The message for this week will be Unconquerable Love from Romans 8:35-39.

We will celebrate the Lord's Supper together and also enjoy our "Coast Love Feast Potluck."

This week we will talk about another major logical consequence of the gospel in our lives.

If a father reconciled with an estranged son, would you expect fellowship to naturally and logically follow?

So come join us at 10:30 AM for a message rooted in Romans 8:31-34 titled, Gospel Logic Applied: Fellowship with God.

The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with you all.

This week's meal is certainly not "leftovers" but it is a challenge to us to apply what we heard last week as disciples of Jesus Christ.

The message is "Gospel Logic Applied" (Romans 8:31-34).

Come and join us as we "chew" on this rich passage and seek, by God's grace, to get it from our heads to our hearts to our feet (daily lives)!

This Sunday is filled with "feasting" opportunities!

At the 10:30 AM Worship Service, we will continue "dining" in the book of Romans:

God is For Us! (Romans 8:31)

What does it mean to say that 'God is for us?'

At the end of the service, we will observe the Lord's Supper (1 Corinthians 11:23-34).

Then, after the service, we will enjoy a "love feast" (Coast style - a saintly potluck). See details below from an earlier email by Dan.

Dear Coast Family,

This coming Sunday, August 28th, we will begin a monthly tradition. After the service we will have a "love feast" potluck lunch together. We will consider this to be a continuation of our fellowship around the Lord's Table and our celebrating the many benefits that come to us because of His broken body and shed blood. We hope that this time will become increasingly meaningful to us as we seek to recognize His presence among us and honor Him in our corporate fellowship around this meal.

We ask that each of you bring a main dish and a side dish (but not dessert) sufficient for you and your family.

The church will provide electrical hook-ups for your crockpots as well as utensils and beverages (water, ice tea and lemonade).

We will pray and begin eating at 12:30.

Additionally, Jim Sanders is organizing homemade ice cream. If you were asked by Jim to bring your ice cream maker, please direct your questions to him.

New Weekly Schedule for August, September and October:

9:30 - 10:25 AM Setup/worship team preparation; Prayer group
10:30 - 12:00 Noon Worship Service; Nursery/2&3s
12:00 - 12:30 PM Break Down and exit main building
12:00 - 4:00 PM Fellowship time on the school grounds

Beginning in November, we will not have Sunday School on the 4th Sunday of each month. But we are looking at having a potluck lunch together once a month on the 4th Sunday in conjunction with our observance of the Lord's Supper (a sort of 'Love Feast' Coast style). This may begin in August, Lord willing.

In the 9 AM Pastor's Class we will be discussing the doctrine of the Lord's Supper (1 Corinthians 11:23-34).

What is the meaning of the Lord's Supper? How should it be observed?

In the 9 AM 4-7 Children's Sunday School they will be reviewing what they have been studying about the Israelites and their journey to the Promised Land.

In the 9 AM 8-12 Children's Sunday School they will continue their study on prayer and the A.C.T.S. method.

In the 10:30 AM Worship Service we will be continuing our series on "The Eternal Optimist" (Romans 8:26-30) and our focus on Romans 8:28.

What does Romans 8:28 mean and what doesn't it mean?

This week we will also be observing the Lord's Supper during our worship service.

This week the Israelites will finally be reaching Canaan. Whew!

Though Israel was disobedient and unfaithful, God still kept His promises.

As the Israelites wandered in that desert, I bet they wondered and talked a lot about what Canaan was like. Did you know that Canaan was God's way of picturing heaven to His people?

Ever wonder what heaven will be like?
